Nestled
between the breath-taking Arabian Sea on the west and the forest-covered
Western Ghats to the north and east, Kasargod is a prime backwater
destination of Kerala. This northernmost district of Kerala is encircled
by the hilly Kodagu and Mangalore districts of the state of Karnataka
on the east and north respectively. Fishing coupled with the coir
and handloom industries are the primary source of livelihood among
the local folk. Kasargod abounds in natural splendor—refreshing
air, mineral resources, primordial foliage, swift flowing rivers
and enthralling beaches. The Bekal Fort, the largest, best preserved
fort in Kerala stands majestically on a cape between two elongated
pretty palm fringed beaches which spreads over 35 acres and reaches
into the Arabian Sea.

same ruler offers a grand panorama of the Chandragiri river and
the Arabian sea. A view of the sun setting thawing into the horizon
during sunset is sure to leave you with goosebumps!
